At PlantageNet, reliability is paramount. Our network is multihomed (redundant connections to the Internet) with our own Autonomous System (we announce our own routes to the Internet), all servers and routers are powered by a high-capacity extended runtime UPS (battery backup), and all servers have their data backed up to tape every night. For maximum performance, security and reliability, we run FreeBSD Unix on all of our web, DNS and mail servers.

Note that none of the rates below includes domain registrations fees. Please see our domain registration web page for more information.

Basic Web Presence Account:

• 250 MB of total disk space, including email (1 mailbox included).
• 1GB of outgoing bandwidth per month
• Site URL will be http://www.pil.net/~sitename
• CGIs limited to a Page Hit Counter and an E-Mail form processor, which we will provide. No custom or user CGIs permitted.
• NCSA compliant Image Maps.
• Cost: $10US per month (This is FREE with a Dial-Up account)
• One time setup fee of $10.

Entry Level Virtual Domain Web Site:

• 5GB of outgoing bandwidth per month
• Site URL assigned to http://www.yourdomain.com
• Domain aliasing for unlimited email aliases (one POP3 mailbox included), for email @yourdomain.com
• CGIs limited to a Page Hit Counter and an E-Mail form processor, which we will provide. No custom or user CGIs permitted.

• Cost: $20US per month ($15 if bundled with an access account)

Full Featured Virtual Web Host: This package is designed for businesses and individuals which require high bandwidth, and features not included with the other packages, as well as a unique IP for compatibility with older web browsers, better search engine indexing and forward and reverse DNS resolving to your site.

• 500 MB of total disk space on the server (including logs).
• 10000 MB (10 GB) of outgoing bandwidth per month
• Site URL will be http://www.yourdomain.com
• Site will be assigned a unique IP
• SSL Security for e-commerce using our certificate is included.

Brief explaination of HTTP 1.1 header redirection.
HTTP 1.1 header redirection allows a domain name to be co-assigned on an existing web server, pointing to a special directory (yours).
By doing this, we can provide you the individuality normally associated with a true IP address based server.
The drawback to this type of virtual web server is backward compatability to  olderweb browsers.  Browsers such as those prior to Netscape 2.x, MSIE 3.x, and Mosaic, do not support header redirection.
If total compatability with ALL web browsers is a requirement of yours, then this method is not appropriate for you.  Use of the Full Featured Virtual Web Site is your best alternative.
