A Word About Grading

The big concern on the web among comic buyers is amateur grading. In a lot of cases good books are being called fine and very fine by the huge influx of inexperienced sellers in the internet marketplace.

While it is true that I have not been a comic dealer for very long I have been a comics hobbyist for over twenty five years and have done my share of buying, trading, & selling.

I have had several Comics Buyer's Guide ads over the years and did well with them. I have also sold a number of books on eBay these past two years. I have never had any trouble with my grading. As a matter of fact I tend to slightly undergrade and have gotten comments that the item was better than expected. In fact I NEVER call any book MINT! You can always find some minute flaw to the item even if it is a production flaw.

These things did not go though strict quality control ya' know.

That said, I am the first to say that I am not infallible nor does my grading mesh with everyone else's.
It is for this reason that I stand 100% behind my grading. If for any reason you do not agree with my grade on any book you purchase from Mike's Toy Planet I will refund the full purchase price as long as the retuned book is in the exact condition as shipped to you.
